Vigo County CEO students toured the Statehouse in Indianapolis. The legislature was in session, so the halls were filled with visitors, staff, officials, and college representatives from schools throughout Indiana. After touring the capitol building--both chambers, the Supreme Court courtroom, and treasury office--CEO had the opportunity to speak with Senator Greg Goode and Representatives Tim Yocum, Tonya Pfaff, Bob Heaton, and Sec. of Education Katie Jenner.

Government impacts business, and CEO students are learning the value of communicating with officials, staying on top of policies that affect their work, and advocating for their community.

RJL Solutions was our host. Ryan Ritchie, VP of Government Relations with RJL, shared a little of what RJL does. It has grown from an advocacy firm to also include services in marketing, grant writing, and aiding in community development. Founded by Rachel Leslie, RJL has offices in Terre Haute and Indianapolis. Very much a TH entrepreneur herself, Rachel has always been an advocate for community and local business.
